Results Are In!

The results are in and an overwhelming amount of you responded to my last poll about which Chloe Susanna style of boots you like best.

Of course the majority of us given the choice (and unlimited funds) would fork out the £1,000 or so and go for the real thing, but sadly that isn’t always an option.

So what did you choose?

In third place with 13.33% of the votes were the ASOS amazon leather studded boots. These were perhaps the safest option as they are far more conservative than some of the other choices, however they were the most unlike the original Susannas and the results indicate that this just wasn’t what you were looking for.

In a close second place with 40% of the votes were my very own Topshop Alvin’s.

And in first place 44.76% of the votes were the Office Nighthawks.

Overall, I’m not surprised by the results; I had a really difficult time choosing between the three and I did narrow it down to this final two but I don’t regret my decision. The Topshop Alvin’s were slightly uncomfortable, only when doing a lot of walking, to begin with but I have gradually fallen more and more in love with them.

The Office Nighthawks were the most like the originals and I do absolutely love them (especially in the bold red) but I felt like maybe they were just a little too bold for everyday wearing.

In the end I think I’m pleased with the choice I made.

On a student budget but lusting after a designer handbag? The average Mulberry handbag (although very pretty) costs around £1,000, so it’s not hard to see why fakes can be a very tempting option.

I sat having this debate with a friend last night. She had just sold some of her ex-boyfriend’s things on Ebay and so had more money than usual, so was considering buying one of the Vivienne Westwood heart-shaped bags but decided it wasn’t worth the money to buy a real one, if people were going to assume it was a fake anyway.

This is something I decided to give a bit of thought. Firstly you should ask yourself why you really want the designer bag in the first place. Is it just so you can say that you own one? If so buying a fake just won’t feel the same. The satisfaction in walking around with a £20 fake handbag bought in the Glasgow Barrowlands just isn’t the same as what you feel with owning the real deal.

There are a huge variety of reasons not to head to the Barrowlands ranging from supporting real British fashion and wanting a good quality product, to simply not wanting to fund criminal gangs and child labour.

What do you think? Would you buy a fake?

London has long been known as one of the most fashionable capital cities in the world, showcasing a variety of styles ranging from grunge and underground street styles to high end fashion. The city has always been a trend setter not a follower.

Last night the London Evening Standard, in association with Burberry announced their annual list of the top 1000 influential Londoners.

Some of the names at the top of the list include Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung and Stella McCartney. British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman was also honoured.

Stella McCartney listed in the “designer” section of the list.

The Evening Standard annually publishes this list and splits names into categories such as “Fashion” “Power Rangers” and “StyleSetters”. The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge were both named in the “Crusaders” category and Samantha Cameron was named as a “Style Setter”.Kate Moss, almost in her forties and still the most asked for super model in the world was also featured.

British model Edie Campbell was listed as one of the most influential people in the “under 25” category and the only name in fashion listed in that group.

The annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was last night held in New York.

Rhianna, Justin Beiber and Bruno Mars all performed on stage last night, at possibly one of the only shows they will ever do where they are not the centre of attention. They were joined by some of the most famous supermodels in the world- known as the Victoria’s Secret Angels.

The fashion show is a yearly holiday season tradition for the retailer and signals that Christmas is indeed on its way.

The show was held at the Lexington Armory in New York City.

Supermodel “Angels” Miranda Kerr, Lily Donaldson and Adriana Lima all took to the stage in fantastic designs.

They were joined by Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio who wore a jewelled bra valued at £1.6m.

Net-a-Porter launch Christmas jumper collaboration.

Net-a-Porter Christmas Jumpers2012

Novelty jumpers have gradually been making their way back onto our lives over the last couple of years ranging from animal motifs to eighties prints and this winter will be no exception.

Christmas is my favourite time of year and I am very excited for Net-a-Porter’s exclusive Christmas jumper collection.

As you would expect net-a-porter have used nothing short of the best, and enlisted eleven designers including both Stella McCartney and Moschino.

My favourite item from the collection is the Preen merino wool intarsia sweater, priced at £595.
